MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE FROM MONDAY FOR CATCHMENTS IN THE FLOOD WATCH AREA

A cold front will cross over Victoria on Monday bringing rainfall to the flood watch area during Monday and Tuesday.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are wet as a result of the recent rainfall, with elevated river levels within some catchments.

Rainfall totals of 15-30 mm, with isolated higher totals up to 40 mm are forecast over the Flood Watch area during Monday into Tuesday.

River level rises and areas of minor flooding are possible in parts of Gippsland, Central and North East Victoria from Monday.

Catchments likely to be affected include:
Mitchell River

South Gippsland Rivers

Bunyip River and Dandenong Creek

Upper Murray and Mitta Mitta Rivers

Ovens and King Rivers
(Minor flood warning current for Ovens and King River)

Seven and Castle Creeks

Goulburn River upstream of Lake Eildon

Flood warnings are current for the following catchments: Latrobe, Yarra, Kiewa and Ovens and King rivers.

The Bureau of Meteorology is continuing to monitor the situation and will issue catchment specific warnings as required.
